Day 38 of Lent 2023 💄 Saint Mary Magdalene

Day 38 of Lent 2023 💄 Saint Mary Magdalene

Hello Everyone and to our Jewish Friends, Happy Passover, which has already started and is going until Wednesday at Sunset, and to the rest, and the “Faithful yet Mingling,” Happy Holy Thursday and Happy Passover.

Today is a great day to celebrate Saint Mary Magdalene. There are so many legends about the Powerful MM. One truth is that MM was a true FOJ, Friend of Jesus. They spent a lot of time together and she always persevered in her love for him.

After Jesus had been crucified, Mary went to his tomb, left for a brief time, and came back with the 12 Apostles, who mourned the loss and left to go home. Yet MM decided to stay and try to find consolation over her loss. Her dear friend was gone, the one who never, ever gave up on her, even while she was riddled with schizophrenia and it was difficult to withstand her. Jesus never wavered. He knew, and he did, forgive and forget all of Mary’s shortcomings.

As she sat, grief-stricken and inconsolable, Jesus appeared to her once again. He had been Resurrected! What a joyous occasion that must have been for Mary Magdalene, and of course, all of the faithful.

Here is what we wrote about Mary Magdalene on the story card we send with each of her medal packages. It has been edited many, many times, with undoubtedly more edits to come, like today, when we glean on her perseverance:

Mary’s life was forever changed when Jesus cast seven devils out from her; from that point on, she became His ardent and loyal follower. Even when Jesus was ostracized and left to die on the cross, Mary always stood by Him. She never wavered with her loyalty.

After Jesus died, Mary was the first to see He had been Resurrected. In art, Mary is often portrayed waiting at the foot of Jesus’ cross. We pay much deserved honor to Mary Magdalene, patroness of stylists, perfumers, repentant sinners, and with a new twist, those who persevere!

Thanks for reading to the bottom line.

P.S. With only a couple days left until Easter Sunday, we will continue to send out Behold the Man (while supplies last) or another version of Jesus with every order!
