Celebrate Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton
Today, April 5, 2022!

Today, we celebrate Elizabeth Ann Seton, best known for her creative mind that envisioned the Seton Schools

Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton is our favorite American saint; we greatly admire her courage and perseverance.

Saint Elizabeth faced many an obstacle in her life. Her Mom and sister both died before she was 5 years old. Things got better, until they didn’t. She married and bore 5 children and around the time of the War of 1812, she and her husband added 7 of her husband’s siblings to their family. But then her husband died from tuberculosis and Elizabeth was left to shoulder the parenting responsibilities alone. She carried on bravely.

Saint Elizabeth possessed great inner strength. She was a “Life Coach” ahead of her time. She built Saint Joseph’s Academy and Free School in Emmitsburg, Maryland. It was the first Free Catholic School in America.

In 1975 she was Canonized by Pope Paul VI who told the audience:

“Elizabeth Ann Seton was wholly American!
Rejoice for your glorious daughter.
Be proud of her.
And know how to preserve her fruitful heritage.”

Saint Elizabeth was one of the first saints we wrote about “back-in-the-day” when we were envisioning, beginning and building SaintforSinners/SaintsforHOPE. Sometimes we think we created SaintsforSinners before the internet was the internet.

Speaking of our building and beginnings, we heard from the person who actually created our very first website, the “Wholly American” Connie Zimmermann, who wrote us this note yesterday:

We are definitely getting positive feedback. It’s fitting to add that Connie has kept creating since the days she helped us build SaintsforSinners.

Here’s an update about Connie: She is now the ‘First American Born” and American Proud Creator of the

Thank you, Connie. You’ve brightened many a dreary day and we are grateful for your perseverance! You built it and created our “Field of Dreams.” For those who don’t quite understand this, take a look on the world wide web and discover our message and meaning.
